Start-up agility: Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

Sometimes working for a large institution has its efficiencies.. Right?…

Are they really efficiencies? At work today I was sitting through a very lengthy conference call with many internal experts on the line providing their inputs and thoughts, the end product was growing murkier and murkier… 5 min… 10 min… 45 min of discussion…. The conclusion? Remove 5 slides from a power point presentation. 45 min of work product, my time and my life that I can never get back…

The efficacy of a small business and entrepreneurs are really a strength and competitive edge that cannot be slighted. Adapting to changes and being able to deal with it in a timely fashion is where much of the value of a small business is generated. Entrepreneurs should embrace this and ensure that they don’t focus on implementing systems or protocols too early on. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t implement simple systems especially if you have a few members on your team. Definitely creating a scalable model will help as the days progress.
